IE pisses me off

I was talking to someone on a web design forum today. I was actually being friendly. I was letting a designer know about a bug I found in one of his designs. It wasn't anything major, just a heading that clipped into the header image when the page was viewed on FireFox. It would have been an easy fix. Just change a few lines of code and all is right.

In a perfect world, that's how things would have gone.

Instead, I get into a one-sided flamewar with a guy who keeps posting things like "Internet explorer is better than your shitty FireFox."

That's fine and great. He can have his opinion. That's not what irked me. What steamed me was the fact he kept saying that everyone should use Internet Explorer, and that everyone has it. I told him that I did not have Internet Explorer. He called me a "n00b" that didn't know how to use a computer. Every computer has IE, right? Wrong. I posted the following:

What went wrong? Doesn't every computer have IE? Why can't my Linux install it? At this point several intelligent forum members posted saying things like, "He just got served." and my personal favorite, the tried and true, "Pwned." My rival didn't post again. Jeez. All this because I was trying to help the guy. What a jackass.

I know this is really, really geeky, but I had to write it somewhere. Just pretend it was a post about puppies. Everyone likes puppies.
